Tulsa Bikram Yoga

BIKRAM 90 Minutes
Bikram’s Beginning Yoga class is a demanding series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. The Bikram method also stimulates the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order.

Bikram scientifically designed this 90 minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body to prevent illness, injury, and limit the effects of aging. The series of postures combines skills of concentration, patience, determination and self control, which lead to increased mental clarity and reduced stress.

Bikram yoga is done in a room temp of 105. This warms your muscles, prevents injury, allows a deeper workout and cleanses the body by flushing toxins.

Yoga Mix – 90 Minutes
This class is a challenging sequence for all levels. This is a total body practice, including forward folds, introductory backbends, standing postures, hip openers and spinal twists. The class begins with warming postures and follows with a flow series and floor work.

Hot Flow - 90 Minutes – NEW !!!
This class flows from one posture to the next, in the Vinyasa style. New postures are introduced with familiar ones to deepen your existing practice and enhance cardiovascular benefit. Taught in a heated room.

Beginning Yoga – 90 Minutes – New!!!
This class has an extended seated warm up, followed by Sun Salutations with variations.
If you want to build a solid foundation in the basics, this class is for you!


HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?
In order to be effective, yoga should be practiced daily or at least on a regular basis without long lapses between classes. 3 times a week is a good beginning commitment. You will find your body wants to do yoga and you will organize your schedule to fit it in. Your time and effort will be rewarded tenfold.
 


WHAT TO BRING?

  1. COME WITH AN EMPTY STOMACH (DON’T EAT 2 HOURS PRIOR TO CLASS).
  2. BRING A BEACH TOWEL OR 2, WATER AND YOGA MAT. *
  3. WEAR LIGHT CLOTHING. BAGGY APPAREL JUST GETS IN THE WAY.
  4. ARRIVE A MINIMUM OF 15 MINUTES EARLY.
  5. BE PREPARED TO WORK HARD AND SWEAT A LOT.

*We have towels and mats for rent, and sell water for your convenience.
We also have dressing rooms with showers.
