New Student Info

NEW STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE A MINIMUM OF 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO CLASS TO SIGN A WAIVER AND GET ACCLIMATED TO THE HEAT.

How do I get started?

Please read the Studio etiquette page.

Please arrive a MINIMUM of  15- 20 minutes before class starts to get signed in.  This will give you time to get settled, and relax.  There is no need to call ahead or reserve a spot.  We have new people all the time who have never done yoga.  Simply come to class, see what it’s about and if it’s for you.  You will learn more every class and be able to do more.  It comes with time.  If you decided to run a marathon with no prior experience, you would not race out the door and try to run 26 miles the first day!

What should I bring and wear?

Come with an empty stomach, (don’t eat 2 hours prior to class) and clean body.

Bring two beach towels, water and yoga mat.  (we have towels and mats for rent, and water to purchase on site)

Wear light clothing.   Baggy apparel gets in the way and is heavy when soaked.  We are a relaxed studio, no one cares what you are wearing.  We practice in bare feet.

We have dressing room with showers.

Be prepared to work hard and sweat a lot.

How often should I come?

Committing to 10 classes is the best approach.  The mind dislikes the practice in the beginning, but the body loves it right off! If you make up your mind to come for 10 classes, by the 11th class you will be well on your way to a lifetime practice.  You will learn more with each class and the mind will release its "grip".  (I'm hot, this is hard, etc)  When the mind relaxes, the body relaxes, and it suddenly becomes effortless effort.  This doesn't happen over night, but it does happen.  You'll find you are making time in your schedule for yoga because everything else in your life is enhanced and feels better when you practice.

 Where is the studio?

We are on 41st, between Yale & Sheridan, on the North side of the street in Highland Plaza Shopping Center.  We are across from Pet Smart.  Other businesses in our center are Ricardos, and Panera.  We’re in the middle, down from Weight Watchers.
