Original Hot Yoga is based on the Bishnu Gosh Linage of 26/2 which is a demanding series of 26 specific postures and 2 breathing exercises suitable for all levels. The series is designed to work the entire body in 90 minutes with postures practiced in 105 degrees. The sequence of the postures works synergistically and cumulatively, each preparing the body for the next. This energizes a sedentary lifestyle, heals damage from high impact sports, and slows normal deterioration that comes with aging. The body returns to a more balanced state of health. Instructors teaching the Original Hot Yoga method have attended an intensive 9 week teacher training and have graduated with full credentials. yQ is the ONLY studio in Tulsa that offers this healing style of yoga.
A condensed Hot 90 class for those times when life prevents you from practicing for 90 minutes. Class sequence may vary depending on teacher.
“Vinyasa” is a Sanskrit word meaning “to place in a special way”. The most common definition is “linking movement to breath." Generally, Vinyasa is used as a noun to describe the sequence of poses that are performed between Adho Mukha Svanasanas (downward facing dog) as part of a Surya Namaskara (sun salutation) sequence. Hot Vinyasa is ideally practiced in a room heated to approximately 78 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the teacher. Hot or not hot; you can expect a flowing class that contains Pranayama, sometimes music and a variety of different poses, all teacher’s choice.
This class focuses on invigorating, stretching, and strengthening your body. Integrating postures from other styles as well as familiar poses from our established form, it contains five vinyasas, or flows, connected to breath awareness. Beginners encouraged. Led by a certified instructor who has studied with Jimmy Barkan since 2006.

Yoga for the joints, not the muscles. Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Postures may be held for as long as 5 minutes. Music is a part of this practice.
It's about slowing down and opening the body through passive stretching. During these long holds, your muscles relax deeply. It's a completely different feeling from other types of yoga classes since props are used to support your body instead of your muscles. Restorative classes are very mellow, making them a good complement to more active practices and an excellent antidote to stress. This class is not heated and music is used.
