Hiking/Rucking Group

Join us for a walk in the woods

What to bring:

Good walking shoes and at least 1 liter (1 quart) of water.

“Rucking” is a low-impact, military-inspired workout that combines walking with a weighted backpack to build both cardio and strength. If you’d like to try it, bring a backpack with your water and a few optional items to add weight—extra water (always a good idea), canned goods, or dumbbells. If you’re new to rucking, start with less than 10 lbs. We’ll go over best practices for gradually increasing weight.

We’ll begin with a short intro to answer questions and walk through what to expect. Then we’ll head out for a 1–2 mile loop together. If you choose to stop after the first loop, plan for about an hour total. Want more? Stay for an additional loop or two—you’re free to leave whenever you’re ready.

All are welcome!

June 20, July 25, August 29: Locations and start times will be announced prior to each meet up

Summer Solstice Meditation

Summer Solstice Meditation

This practice will be divided into 5 meditations, themed around the yamas. For each meditation, we will use a different posture, pranayama (breathing) exercise, and thoughtful meditation. This is an opportunity to quietly look deeply inside ourselves.

The yamas represent the "roots" of our body tree, hidden beneath the ground. The yamas define our view of the universe and universal laws. Though these beliefs and attitudes are hidden from view, their presence in our practice really empowers the body to heal and improve, or bear more fruit. Yamas set the foundation for our lives.

Every year on the 1st Saturday of May, many people will gather at labyrinths around the world to celebrate World Labyrinth Day (WLD). The celebration is to draw attention to how walking a labyrinth can bring individuals and communities a place to go, to be, where they can find stillness. On this annual day of celebration, thousands of people will intentionally walk the labyrinth ‘As One At 1 and create a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next’ (ref. https://www.worldlabyrinthday.org/). For our celebration, we will be including functional movement prior to the actual walk and close out our program with a sound bath.

Timeline for the day:

Yoga Nidra

**Yoga Nidra: A Deeply Restorative Experience** ‍

Join us for an hour of deep rest through **Yoga Nidra**, a guided meditation practice often called “yogic sleep.” This powerful technique guides you to the peaceful state between wakefulness and sleep, promoting profound physical and mental healing.

Yoga Nidra has been shown to ease insomnia, reduce anxiety, relieve stress, and foster a sense of calm, clarity, and inner peace. Whether you're new to meditation or just in need of deep rest, this experience is for you.

**What to Expect:**

We’ll begin with gentle stretching to help settle into your body. Then, you'll lie down and get as comfortable as possible for the guided meditation. You'll remain still for the duration (unless you need to adjust), simply listening and relaxing. If you drift off—that’s okay! Many do, and your teacher will gently wake you if needed.

**What to Bring:**

  • Yoga mat

  • Pillows or bolsters

  • Blanket(s) for under and over you

  • Any props that help you feel supported while lying down

Some blankets will be available at the studio, but feel free to bring whatever you need to feel cozy and supported.

Let your body rest. Let your mind soften. Let your whole being reset.

We can't wait to rest with you.
